OOC: How America Sounds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvglHa_P9BA

I know this might not matter to most people, but I think it can help other people who read what America writes.

America sounds like Gene Kelly. He's got that youthful, higher range voice that sounds boyish. He speaks with a Transatlantic accent. This is accent is what all radio stars, television stars, and motion picture stars were trained in back in the 1930's-1950's. It's also called "Boarding School Accent." It is, in my opinion, the quintessential American accent.

And yes, my Alfred can tap dance.

I can't promise his French is as good as Gene Kelly's. But if you ever wonder how America sounds, or at least my America, he sounds like Gene Kelly.

As an aside, Alfred can speak in all the various dialects and accents his citizens use. He tends to only use them in the area of their origin. It's a means of blending in - appearing to be one's neighbor or old friend. Someone from the Bronx will hear a Bronx accent. Someone from Texas will get that Texas drawl. And so on and so forth.

To all the other nations, he sounds like one of his old time movie stars - particularly Gene Kelly. =)

I need to play my America more. ;_;

Also, I was wondering if you wanted to continue the Christmas thread in my jounal? Since it's so long after Christmas and I feel bad for cluttering the OP's inbox.
