Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance

*Alfred had climbed up one of the tallest hills in HQ and set up a picnic blanket. He laid out several more blankets, for when it got colder - and it would, it is winter after all - and a basket full of goodies. In case the food and drink Matthew might bring ran out. Better to have more than not enough! He waited for his boyfriend to show up.*

He's going to love watching this lunar eclipse!

I'll be more than happy to. [That way, Al's less likely to be beaten up by a moose. Turning his attention to the moon, he looked up at it with a sort of awed look.]

Isn't it?! I think the peak will come in a few hours...sometimes I wish these things went faster, because I get so sleepy. But in comparison, the solar eclipses are too short...

Sometimes I wish that they'd last longer. In retrospect, they always seem not to last long enough, after all. [Turning his head slightly, he snuck in a kiss on the cheek.]

[Playfully bumping his with his nose, he turned a bit and wrapped both arms around him.]

If you could have one thing, no matter what it was, what would it be? [There was just something about being out and viewing things like the eclipse that made him feel a bit philosophical.]

*He had to think about that. He wanted to say Matthew, but he already had him...and his food needs changed constantly...*

I don't know...I hope so...I guess I would be out of a job, but I would give it up if it would help the rest of the world...

[Perfect. Snuggling happily, he sneaks in a few light kisses to his neck and jaw.]

You'll always have a job, you know. I'll let you be my hero. [With a light smile, he kissed him lightly for a moment.] But peace would be nice. If not total, at least for a majority.

I know, a hero's job is never done. *He kissed him back.* I'd save you any day! But yeah...I want everyone in the world to be content or safe at least.

[Bringing up a hand, he gently brushed some pieces of hair away from Al's face.]

You can save me from the evil kitchen. [A soft laugh accompanied his words as he stole a quick kiss.] Unfortunatately I think that no matter what, somewhere out there, someone will always be fighting.

[Leaning close for a moment, he lightly bumped noses with him.]

Sometimes I find it annoying, but you know? I wouldn't change it. Everyone needs a hero, after all. [Pausing for a moment, he kissed him lightly.] Plus, people are just bound to disagree. I think... as much as I'd love a global peace, that disagreement is necessary. Just... in certain quantities and all.
